Head of Sportsbook
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Head of Sportsbook. Your focus will be on improving our Sportsbetting product and proposition so that we can maximise overall performance from this vertical. This is a unique role that will blend commercial and product development requirements with regards to a sports-focused proposition.
You will be responsible for commercial and product improvements by working closely with Tech, Marketing, CRM, and CS teams, as well as the day-to-day delivery of Sports performance as a vertical. You will also own the roadmap for targeting sports players. This includes deciding on key events, generosity, promotional focus, etc. It also involves working with Marketing, Customer Support, and VIP teams to ensure customer needs are clear and can be effectively met.
You have a deep understanding and appreciation of the key Sports that make up global betting volumes, including major leagues and longer-tail Sports markets.
What You’ll Do
As a Head of Sportsbook, you will own and drive the commercial performance of the Sports vertical, improving the Sportsbook product and overall proposition while defining and executing the roadmap for key events, promotional focus, and generosity strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Sports commercial planning, combined with promotional plan preparation.
Provide strategic input into 3rd party partner product development.
Direct input into how we define and strengthen our points of differentiation and unique selling proposition for our sports players.
Work with third parties, our in-house sports books, web development, QA, and marketing & VIP teams to create compelling products, pricing & promotions that effectively drive acquisition, conversion, and retention.
Support and give direction to Market Analysis, including competitive research, player and vertical research, market awareness & innovation opportunities.
Work on frontend Sportsbook design, & work closely with 3rd party partners & internal teams to deliver.
Document business requirements and processes for key sports markets.
Continue to process Feature Requests and prioritize features based on business needs & potential impact.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute campaigns across multiple channels.
Ensure we leverage all campaigns, products, and promotions where applicable.
Drive a high performing customer experience agenda, using analysis and interpretation of the performance of all products and game types, identifying areas of improvement to optimize journeys and experiences.
Weekly, monthly & quarterly reporting on performance against quarterly KPI’s.
Develop and manage sports budgets for key initiatives, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Stay up to date with emerging trends in the industry and audience preferences and make recommendations for new initiatives.
Be available to engage with local regulators as the “subject matter expert” for Sportsbetting.
Who You Are
You are an experienced Commercial Manager with a deep understanding of key sports markets, both major leagues and longer-tail sports, who is commercially minded, data-driven, and proactive, able to drive product and revenue growth, work effectively across Tech, Marketing, CRM, Customer Support, and VIP teams, and translate player needs into actionable strategies and measurable results.
What We’re Looking For
5-7+ years of experience in sports betting, with a strong focus on key sports markets.
Strong understanding of major sports and a genuine passion for connecting with sports bettors.
Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced setting.
Driven, passionate, and determined, a self-motivator with a knack for problem-solving.
Outstanding Project Management skills that will help you to develop and drive forward new projects while always having an overview and foreseeing the next steps for reaching the set goals.
Clear understanding of all key sportsbetting metrics.
Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, market research, and competitive analysis.
Ability to create product specifications, & critique marketing & promotional plans.
Must be creative and analytical and results-driven with a strong desire to test, re-evaluate, optimize, and test again.
Fully proficient in written and verbal English.
